ExpertInTheCity is a platform that facilitates connections between individuals. We do not provide jobs, employ or supervise experts, nor do we guarantee any outcomes. Our verification is limited to a basic, single-level email check. You are responsible for independently verifying any individual before engaging with them or acting on their advice or services. Use of the platform is entirely at your own risk. The service is currently free of charge. The platform must not be used for any unlawful purpose. The full, legally binding terms and conditions are set out below.
"Platform": The ExpertInTheCity website, apps, and related services.
"We/Us/Our": ExpertInTheCity, its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors.
"User(s)": Individuals or entities seeking advice, guidance, or connections via the Platform.
"Expert(s)": Any individual or entity offering knowledge, advice, consulting, mentoring or related services through the Platform.
"Content": Any text, images, profiles, posts, listings, messages, files, or other material provided to or through the Platform.
"Interaction(s)": Any communication, meeting, call, message, consultation, transaction, introduction, or engagement between Users and Experts, whether on or off the Platform.
2.1 The Platform is a connection tool. We are not a recruiter, employer, staffing agency, professional services firm, escrow, marketplace of record, or broker.
2.2 We only conduct basic, one level verification (e.g., email confirmation). We do not independently verify identities, credentials, licenses, qualifications, insurance, criminal/credit history, or right to work status, and we make no endorsement of any User or Expert.
2.3 We do not manage, supervise, or guarantee any Interaction or outcome. All decisions made based on advice of the Expert are solely your responsibility.
2.4 We do not provide jobs or guarantees of projects, clients, or compensation. Experts are independent from us. There is no employment, partnership, agency, or joint venture relationship between Experts and Us.
2.5 Zero Agency, Representation, Intermediary or Promotion Role
ExpertInTheCity does not act as an agent, representative, introducer, intermediary, promoter, guarantor, recruiter, broker, or facilitator for any User or Expert. The Platform merely provides visibility. All discussions, negotiations, meetings, agreements, and transactions occur independently between Users and Experts, entirely at their own risk.
3.1 You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Platform.
3.2 You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for all activities under your account.
3.3 We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion for any reason, including breach of these Terms or applicable law.
4.1 You may not use the Platform for any illegal, harmful, or unethical purpose, including but not limited to:

4.3 Identity Fraud and Impersonation Disclaimer
We do not guarantee that any User or Expert is who they claim to be. You assume full risk of impersonation, falsified credentials, misrepresentation, fraud, or inaccurate information provided by any party. You agree to independently verify identities before engaging.
Users
Experts
6.1 All information on the Platform (including Expert listings and messages) is provided for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional services from a qualified and licensed practitioner who has reviewed your specific circumstances.
6.2 For medical, legal, financial, engineering, immigration, or other regulated matters, consult a properly qualified and licensed professional and verify their license status.
6.3 AI-Generated or AI-Assisted Content Disclaimer
Some content may be generated, assisted, or summarized using artificial intelligence. AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. You must not rely on such content for professional, legal, financial, medical, or personal decisions. We disclaim all responsibility for any outcomes based on AI-generated information.
7.1 We do not charge Users or Experts any Platform fees currently, however, if we ever introduce any fees, we will update these Terms and provide reasonable notice.
7.2 Any payments between Users and Experts occur outside the Platform and are not processed, held, or guaranteed by us. We are not a party to, nor responsible for, billing disputes, refunds, chargebacks, or taxes.
8.1 Interactions may move off the Platform (e.g., phone, email, messaging apps). We do not monitor or control off Platform communications and assume no responsibility for them.
8.2 You are responsible for your safety and security (e.g., meeting in public places, verifying identities, never sharing passwords, OTPs, or sensitive financial data).
8.3 Physical Meetings and Safety Risk
Any in-person or off-Platform meeting is undertaken solely at your own risk. We do not control or supervise offline interactions and accept no responsibility for personal behavior, safety, harm, misconduct, violence, or criminal acts by any User or Expert.
9.1 Users may leave reviews or ratings. These are opinions, not facts, and we do not verify them.
9.2 We may moderate, remove, or disable Content at our discretion but have no obligation to do so and no duty to monitor.
9.3 No Duty to Monitor
We have no obligation to monitor any communication, content, or interaction occurring on or off the Platform. Monitoring, if performed, is at our sole discretion and does not create any obligation.
10.1 Your Content: You retain ownership of Content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to host, use, reproduce, display, and distribute your Content on/for the Platform (including for promotion and improvement), solely as needed to operate the service.
10.2 Third Party Content: All trademarks, logos, and content of others belong to their respective owners.
10.3 Feedback: If you submit ideas or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty free license to use them without obligation.
10.4 User/Expert IP Responsibility
Users and Experts are solely responsible for ensuring their uploaded content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights. We assume no responsibility for infringing, illegal, or plagiarized material uploaded by others.
11.1 We are not a party to confidentiality arrangements between Users and Experts. If confidentiality is required, you must execute your own Non-Disclosure Agreement directly with each other.
11.2 Do not share sensitive personal, health, financial, or proprietary information unless you independently trust the counter party and have suitable safeguards in place.
12.1 The Platform may, from time to time, experience interruptions, delays, downtime, maintenance periods, updates, modifications, or discontinuation of certain features or functionality. Such events may occur without prior notice. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free access to the Platform, and We shall not be liable for any losses or inconvenience arising from any such unavailability.
12.2 We may introduce new or experimental features, tools, or services as beta offerings. These beta features are provided on an 'as-is' and 'as-available' basis and may contain bugs, errors, or other technical issues. By using any beta feature, you acknowledge and accept that such features carry additional risks, may change at any time, and may be modified or discontinued without notice.
12.3 Right to Discontinue Platform or Accounts
We may modify, limit, suspend, discontinue, or delete any feature, function, or User/Expert account at any time, with or without reason, and without prior notice.
13.1 The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services. These links are provided solely for convenience and informational purposes. We do not endorse, control, or assume any responsibility for the content, accuracy, policies, practices, security standards, or availability of such third-party sites or services. Your access to and use of any third-party resource is entirely at your own risk, and you are responsible for reviewing their applicable terms, conditions, and privacy policies before engaging with them.
14.1 The Platform and all Content are provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis without any warranties or representations of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, security, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will operate uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components, nor do We guarantee that any Content or advice obtained through the Platform will meet your expectations or achieve any desired outcome.
15.1To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, We—and Our owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates—disclaim all liability for any and all losses or damages of any kind, whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive. This includes, without limitation, any loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, data, personal injury, property damage, or any other tangible or intangible loss arising out of or relating to your access to or use of the Platform, any Content, or any Interaction with an Expert or User, whether conducted on or outside the Platform..
15.2 If, despite the foregoing limitations, any liability is found to exist and cannot legally be excluded, the total aggregate liability of Us (and Our owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates), whether arising in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, shall in no event exceed AED 100 (one hundred dirhams) or the minimum amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is lower..
15.3 You acknowledge and agree that your use of the Platform is entirely at your own risk. You alone are responsible for verifying, assessing, and relying upon any information, advice, or services received through the Platform or through any Interaction, and We assume no responsibility for your decisions or actions based thereon..
15.4 Founder, Owner, and Officer Liability Shield
The founders, owners, shareholders, directors, officers, and employees of ExpertInTheCity shall bear no personal liability whatsoever connected to the Platform, its Content, or any Interaction. Any claim, if permitted by law, shall be strictly limited to the Company entity alone.
16.1 You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Us, Our owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and expenses) arising out of or relating to:
(a) your access to or use of the Platform;
(b) any Interaction you engage in with any User or Expert;
(c) any Content you submit, post, transmit, or otherwise make available through the Platform;
(d) your violation of these Terms, any applicable law, or the rights of any third party; or
(e) any acts or omissions committed by you in connection with the Platform or any related services.
This indemnity obligation shall survive your use of the Platform and the termination of these Terms.
16.2 Indemnity for Advice & Interaction Decisions
We are not responsible for decisions, actions, or losses arising from advice, communication, or interactions obtained through the Platform. You agree to indemnify Us for any such consequences.
17.1 You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations (including professional licensing rules, consumer protection laws, data protection laws, sanctions/export restrictions, and anti bribery laws).
18.1 Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles..
18.2 Jurisdiction: You agree that the courts of the Emirate of Dubai (onshore), United Arab Emirates, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform. You hereby irrevocably submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
18.3 Amicable Resolution First: Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to notify Us in writing of the dispute and to engage in good-faith efforts to resolve the matter amicably. If the Parties are unable to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days of such notice, either Party may proceed with legal action in accordance with Clause 18.2..
18.4 Class/Group Actions: To the extent permitted by law, disputes must be brought in an individual capacity, not as a class or collective action.
19.1 We may update, modify, or revise these Terms from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Any updated Terms will become effective immediately upon being posted on the Platform, unless otherwise specified. Your continued access to or use of the Platform after such changes are posted shall constitute your acceptance of the updated Terms. In the event of any material changes, We will highlight or otherwise signpost such changes on the Platform to draw your attention to them.
20.1 We may suspend or terminate access at any time for any reason.
20.2 Sections that by nature should survive (including, without limitation, Content licenses, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnities, governing law) shall survive termination.
20.3 Survival of Founder Protection
Founder protection, indemnification, liability limits, AI disclaimers, safety disclaimers, IP clauses, and dispute resolution terms shall survive termination indefinitely.
21.0 Harmful Consequences Disclaimer
We are not liable for emotional distress, reputation loss, miscommunication, misunderstandings, business loss, missed opportunities, or any harm resulting from introductions or interactions facilitated through the Platform.
21.1 We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign without our consent.
21.2 These Terms (plus any policies referenced) constitute the entire agreement between you and us.
21.3 If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be deemed severed from these Terms and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect.
No failure, delay, or omission by Us in enforcing any right, provision, or remedy under these Terms shall be deemed a waiver of such right or remedy, nor shall any single or partial exercise of any right preclude any other or further exercise of that right or any other right. Any waiver must be in writing and expressly stated to be a waiver.
